While I liked the couple better in this book than the last, the romance didn't always work for me. The banter between Clay and Talin annoyed me, to say the least. I don't find "Bully" and "Brat" to be acceptable pet names, and when Clay threatened to spank Talin more than once, I was ready to strangle the guy. I just didn't find it acceptable to threaten to spank a survivor of childhood abuse. I don't find it acceptable to threaten to spank ANYONE, but for Clay to tell Talin he would spank her if she didn't behave, that really pushed the limits of my patience. I don't find the proliferation of spanking in romance appealing in any way, and I wish it would just go away. UGH

I love the political wrangling between the Psy, and that is what really keeps me reading the series. For a race that supposedly put aside all of their emotions, they certain have huge egos and crave power like nobody's business. I keep wondering who is going to get stabbed in the back and betrayed by supposedly allies next.
